Secret Ingredients of the Best Chocolate Brownies Ever

The secret ingredients to a dreamy, moist, and gooey brownie are cocoa powder and dark chocolate chunks. Chocolate chunks will get you pockets of gooey chocolate because some of the chocolate melts while the batter bakes. Plus, butter instead of oil can make all the difference in the flavor, plus it helps with the rising of cake brownies which we are baking today.

How to Make Chocolate Brownies?

This killer brownie recipe starts by melting butter before whisking eggs and sugar. Now, take eggs and sugar in a bowl and whisk them using a beater. Then add melted butter, yogurt, and vanilla essence. Next comes the baking soda, baking powder, all-purpose flour, cocoa powder and whisk them until no lumps remain and the batter becomes smooth. Lastly, stir in chocolate chunks.

Consistency of the batter is very very important to get the perfect chocolate brownies. So, make sure, the consistency is neither too thick nor too thin.

Glaze a square pan with oil spray and place a baking paper, covering all sides properly.

Just pour in the batter now and bake!

Super moist, fudgy, and cake-like brownies will take about 28 minutes. It might even take less time depending on your baking oven so don’t forget to check it half-way through using a toothpick. If the toothpick comes out with a little batter on it, it means your brownies are baked. If you want them to have that extra cake feel, then cook for additional 3-4 minutes until the toothpick comes out clean.

Take the pan out and let it cool slightly before cutting.

There’s more….

I also like to make Chocolate Glaze for the brownies.

Just to get that extra punch of chocolate. 😛

But you can skip it if you like. The brownies will taste as good without the glaze.

In a heatproof bowl, take dark chocolate and broil it on water. Keep mixing so the chocolate won’t burn.

Pour it on the cake-like brownies and garnish it with almonds.

Enjoy!

Since I get asked a lot of questions on different brownie recipes, I’ll be addressing some of the most commonly asked questions here.

What Makes Brownies Fudgy?

Fudgy brownies have a higher fat-flour ratio than cakey once. So, by fat here, we mean butter and chocolate. The amount of sugar and eggs does not change whether you are going fudgy or cakey.

What Kind of Chocolate is Best for Brownies?

Use bar chocolate and cut it into big chunks. It’ll melt during bake time and make rich and chocolatey brownies.

My favorite one is Lindt Excellence Smooth Dark Chocolate 70%.

Is It Better to Use Oil or Butter for Brownies?

Oil and butter both offer a moist texture but only butter helps raise the batter well. Plus, for cake brownies, butter is a better option. For Fudge type brownies, the oil will be a better choice.

It entirely depends on your preference.
